Please sign this petition to the Secretary of State regarding proposed energy from waste incinerator site at St Dennis Cornwall.
This maybe our last chance to get to grips with what SITA is trying to do to Cornwall. A 120 metre high waste incinerator chimney at St Dennis will contaminate the land, water and air with dioxins.
The farming and food industries are one of the most important businesses that we have here and MUST BE PROTECTED at all costs. They bring in over two Billion pounds per year and employ over 80,000 people. Many other businesses will be affected if the incinerator is built including tourism. You are all so important and what you say has to be heard and listened to by the government concerning this planning public enquiry as to why this incinerator must not be built.
The Secretary of State has confirmed he wishes to determine the outcome of the appeal himself, and not the planning inspector. The inspector will prepare a report following the inquiry, and will make a recommendation to the Secretary of State, for him to make the final decision. I am sure the Inspectorate will confirm more details in due course.
A copy of the Inspectorate's letter will also be available on our Web pages shortly.
Please take this opportunity of stopping the purposed incinerator being built at St Dennis or anywhere else in Cornwall before it’s too late.
